Gran Bierzo Mencía
Cvne has selected a wine from this historic winery-cooperative from Bierzo. Founded in 1963, it was a pioneer in the area and from its beginnings it was committed to the native red grape variety, Mencía. Our selection has sought a balanced wine of fruit and ageing, without losing the Mencía character and minerality characteristic of the good vineyards of the region. This one in particular from vineyards of Vineyard: In goblet. San Juán de Paluezas (600m.), Santalla (600m.), Priaranza (550m.), from 70-90 year old vineyards. Produced in concrete vats with indigenous yeasts. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation without temperature control. Gravity-assisted bleeding into an underground tank for spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Aged for 10 months in French and American oak barrels + 3 months in concrete. Contains sulphites.
