Fincas Garnacha Selection
Selección de Fincas Garnacha is a Rioja Alta wine made with Garnacha grapes, characterized by its aromatic intensity with floral and red fruit notes, and a smooth and sweet mouthfeel. Aged in oak barrels, it has a long and balsamic aftertaste, ideal for pairing with fish and white meats.
Characteristics of the vineyard
Typical Mediterranean and warm zone variety, medium cluster with loose berries and very sensitive to weather conditions that can affect its production.
Winemaking characteristics
The grapes are harvested when the ripening conditions are ideal. In the winery, the fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks and then the wine is transferred to 225-litre oak casks where it remains for a few months until, by means of successive tastings, we consider that the time has come to bottle it.
Harvest data
The harvest begins on September 16 and ends on October 21.
The weather in Rioja during the 2021 growing season has been irregular. The summer began very dry but the rains in September were decisive for a very positive evolution. In the high and aerated areas, as well as in the vineyards of low and medium production, the grapes improved notably with the help of these rains. Perfect weather during the month of October, with sunny, bright days followed by very cold nights, led to slow ripening.
Healthy, well-balanced grapes with generally good acidity have allowed us to produce great wines with good cellaring potential.
