Finca Vallejo Roble
Finca Vallejo Ribera del Duero Roble is made with Tempranillo grapes from vineyards located at an altitude of over 800 m in Villalba de Duero, with sandy loam and clay loam soils. The 2022 vintage, marked by drought, allowed an early harvest in September, preserving the freshness of the fruit. The wine is aged for 6 months in American oak barrels, with an outstanding cherry color, aromas of red fruits and spices, and a round, balanced palate.
Characteristics of the vineyard
The grapes come from our vineyards located at an altitude of 800 m in the Burgos town of Villalba de Duero where the climate is continental and the soils are clay-limestone, ideal for growing vines.
Winemaking characteristics
The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and the ageing of 6 months in French and American oak casks.
Harvest data
The 2023 vintage has been one of the driest in recent years, with high temperatures during part of the spring and the whole summer.
The early start was carried out to maintain the fruit and freshness of the wines, as well as to get all the grapes at their optimum ripening point.
Tasting Notes
This Finca Vallejo wine stands out for its aromas of red fruit and fresh notes of aromatic herbs, powerful entry on the palate with round tannins and a long, persistent finish.
