Bela Ribera del Duero

75cl Bottle - 2022

Bela Ribera del Duero is made with Tinta del País (Tempranillo) grapes from our own vineyards in Villalba de Duero, at an altitude of over 820 m above sea level. Vinification includes cold maceration and fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by nine months aging in French oak barrels and three months in bottle. The 2022 vintage, characterized by its dryness and high temperatures, produced a cherry-cherry colored wine, with aromatic complexity of floral notes, red fruit and sweet spices, and an elegant, fruity finish.

Characteristics of the vineyard

Own vineyards, all the grapes are Tinta del país (Tempranillo), over 25 years old, located at an altitude of over 820 m above sea level in the municipality of Villalba de Duero.

Our Villalba vineyard is marked by its gentle and undulating orography.

The soil has 2 distinct parts: on the one hand, sandy loam textures, rich in sand-sized particles, well distributed between coarse and fine that characterize these soils as well aerated, draining. The other part has a clay-loam texture, both with an average depth of around one meter, poor in organic matter and with an average level of carbonates.

Winemaking characteristics

The winemaking process is traditional. Cold maceration prior to fermentation in stainless steel tanks followed by nine months aging in French oak barrels.

The wine matures for a minimum of three months in the bottle until it is released to the market.

Selected yeasts.

Harvest data

The 2022 vintage was one of the driest in recent years, with high temperatures during part of the spring and throughout the summer.

Due to these circumstances, the harvest began on September 19 and ended on October 15, which is practically 2 weeks earlier than in previous years.

The early start was carried out to maintain the fruit and freshness of the wines, as well as to get all the grapes at their optimum ripeness.

Tasting notes

High layer of cherry color with purple notes in the meniscus.

Aromatic complexity where we find floral notes and red fruit such as currant, raspberry, etc.. All this softened and complemented by fine notes of sweet spices and the nuances of the wood from the barrel (cocoa, cloves ...)

It is a wine with a silky tannin and personality, the finish leads to a long and fruity aftertaste with a mineral finish that gives it elegance and finesse.

Serving temperature 15-16ºC.
