Bela Ribera del Duero

75cl Bottle - 2023

Bela Ribera del Duero is made with Tinta del País (Tempranillo) grapes from our own vineyards in Villalba de Duero, at an altitude of over 820 m above sea level. Vinification includes cold maceration and fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by nine months aging in French oak barrels and three months in bottle. The 2022 vintage, characterized by its dryness and high temperatures, produced a cherry-cherry colored wine, with aromatic complexity of floral notes, red fruit and sweet spices, and an elegant, fruity finish.

Characteristics of the vineyard

Vineyard owned for more than 25 years, 100% tinta del país (tempranillo) from plots located in Villalba de Duero, at an altitude of over 820 meters above sea level and in a landscape marked by gentle undulations of the terrain. The soil on which the vineyards are planted is poor in organic matter and about one meter deep. There are two distinct parts: one with a sandy loam texture, draining and rich in fine and coarse sand particles, and the other with a clay loam texture. These soils have a medium level of carbonates.

Winemaking characteristics

The winemaking process is traditional and begins with a cold maceration prior to fermentation, which is carried out in stainless steel tanks. This is followed by aging, which lasts up to nine months and takes place in French oak barrels.

The wine matures for a minimum of three months in the bottle until it is released onto the market.

Harvest data

The 2023 harvest, like that of 2022, was marked by drought and high temperatures throughout the growing season. This meant that the harvest began early, on September 20, and ended on October 12.

September was marked by rain at the beginning of the month, which contained the alcohol content and favored regular ripening of the grapes. Overall, we obtained very good medium acidity and a structure marked by balance.

Tasting notes

Bela 2023 has a beautiful cherry-red cherry color with great intensity and purple notes on the rim. On the nose, it releases complex aromas with floral notes, red fruits (redcurrant, raspberry, strawberry) and attractive spicy notes, supported by slight nuances typical of its aging (cocoa, clove...). It is a voluminous red wine, with soft and velvety tannins and a personality marked by its origin in Villalba de Duero. The finish is long and marked by fruit and mineral nuances, which contribute to an overall impression of elegance and finesse.

Serving temperature 15-16ºC.
