Áurea Minerva is a wine made with grapes from vineyards over 50 years old in Peñaranda, at an altitude of 985 meters above sea level. After traditional fermentation and 12 months of aging in French oak barrels, it matures in the bottle before release. The 2021 vintage offered exceptional climatic conditions, allowing for homogeneous ripening, balance between alcohol and acidity, and excellent structure.

Characteristics of the vineyard
Wine made from grapes from our own vineyards in Peñaranda, specifically from the plot "Las Casqueras", with an altitude of 985 meters, located a few meters from the Geodesic Point of Peñaranda. The vineyard is more than 50 years old and has a yield of 2,500 kg/ha. The soil is mainly calcareous and sandy clay.
Winemaking characteristics
The winemaking process is traditional. Cold maceration prior to fermentation in used 390 liter barrels and a 1,500 liter stainless steel tank followed by 12 months aging in 390 liter French oak barrels.
The wine matures in the bottle for a few months until its release.

Harvest data
The 2021 campaign has been a vintage in which the climatic conditions during the whole vine growing period were exceptional. Low temperatures were maintained until the end of April where budbreak was late, as well as periods of rain at key moments, especially at the beginning of September. These conditions allowed the final ripening of the grapes to be homogeneous. The temperatures during the harvest period resulted in a healthy wine, with structure and a good balance between alcohol and acidity, making it excellent for barrel aging without losing the freshness and character of the variety, but above all of the vineyard and the climate of the 2021 vintage.
The grapes were harvested calmly and staggered, allowing for a good selection of grapes both in the field and in the winery.
The grapes for the production of Aurea Minerva were harvested by hand on October 8 and 9.
