Pack of 4 wines Rosa de los Vientos
For the month of November we have selected in Montenegro a pack of four bottles of wine inspired by the Rose of the Winds, the best of the four directions, north, south, east and west.
The north is represented by DAC, a European red wine from Portugal. The south by Chocoholic, a South African red wine. The east belongs to Villa Maria Private Bin, a white from New Zealand, and the west to American Wings, another white from California.
A delicious selection for you to drink wines from four continents at Black Friday prices.
DAC 2019. Red. D.O.C. Dâo, Portugal.
Álvaro Castro is one of the mythical winemakers of this inland region of Portugal. The wine is a blend of grapes typical of the area, and vines planted since 1988 on clay, granite and sandy soils at about 550 meters altitude. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks and aging for 15/18 months in 2nd and 3rd use French barrels. The result is a fresh wine, with length, flavorful and easy to drink. Dâo is an inland area between Porto and Galicia, surrounded by mountains and forests, with good rainfall and tending to be cooler than hot. A wine with an extraordinary price/enjoyment ratio, round and elegant.
Chocoholic Pinotage 2022.Tinto. West Coast, South Africa
South Africa's emblematic variety is pinotage, a cross between pinot noir and cinsault. A variety with very characteristic aromas that in this wine are loaded with ripe fruit and notes of vanilla and chocolate from the fraction of wine matured in toasted barrels. A wine with a sweet point that makes it perfect to accompany savory or spicy dishes, even for ripe or blue cheeses. Its soft and ripe tannins make this wine very easy to drink, perfect to get to know this variety with so much personality. Screw cap.
Villa Maria Private Bin Riesling 2022. White. New Zealand
New Zealand, with its cool climate, produces some of the best Riesling grape wines in the world. Low yields mean that the grapes have great flavor and concentration. The riesling vineyards come from various areas of Marlborough, from the clays of the Waihopai Valley, the river terraces of the Wairau Valley, as well as river terraces in the cooler Awatere Valley. This provides bright citrus aromas of lemon and lime with lively acidity. This wine can be enjoyed young, or with several years of bottle aging to develop honeyed, complex notes. Screw cap.
American Wings 2022. White. California, USA
Chardonnay is the queen of white wines in California, and this wine is an example of how wines of character can also be made without barrel aging. Identifiable on the nose due to its notes of honey and lemon, and ample and tasty on the palate, it is grateful that it does not have the heavy vanilla notes that are so heavy in many American wines. A sensationally priced chardonnay from sunny California. Screw cap.
