Nik Weis is one of the few winemakers producing wines in Mosel and Saar. The Saar sub-region, where this Old Vines comes from, has an even cooler climate than Mosel. Its distinctive slate soils give the wines particular mineral and smoky aromas.
Vines over 80 years old, whose Riesling grapes are fermented in steel tanks with wild yeasts and without the presence of wood. In addition to the aforementioned mineral aromas, floral notes also appear, and the palate is unctuous and dense, with a hint of acidity and a delicate, light sweetness. This wine is a perfect ally for marinades, cured cheeses and Asian cuisine.
