Contino Reserve
Contino Reserva is made from hand-selected grapes from various micro-plots in the Viñedos del Contino estate, located in a meander of the Ebro River. After manual harvesting and optical selection, fermentation takes place in small tanks, followed by 18 months of aging in French and American oak barrels. The 2020 vintage stands out for its complexity, with notes of black fruit balanced with oak aging, offering a silky wine with great aging potential.
Characteristics of the vineyard
Manual selection of the best micro-plots of the estate. Plots with notable differences, not in terms of orientation, but in terms of soil characteristics. Always in search of the perfect connection between them, within a privileged environment, Viñedos del Contino.
Thanks to the variety of soils found in the meander of the Ebro River, where the estate is located, we can find the different nuances that make the grapes of Viñedos del Contino Reserva so complex.
Winemaking characteristics
Harvested by hand on 300 kg pallets, taken directly from the vineyard to be refrigerated for 24 hours at 12º. After this, processed the following day thanks to an optical sorting machine, a crucial moment for the classification of the grape quality.
Fermentation in small stainless steel and concrete tanks, with reduced capacities, which allows us to elaborate each micro-plot separately according to its optimum state of maturity.
Aging of 18 months in 95% French and 5% American oak 225-liter barrels.
Harvest data

The high rainfall, with above-average values, was key to the grape harvest.
