Contino Grenache
Contino Garnacha is an elegant and very balanced wine, where its elaboration has been thought to favor its extraction in aroma and flavor.
The grapes for Contino Garnacha come from the San Gregorio and Laserna vineyards. Both plots have an altitude of 420 and 400 meters respectively. Both soils are clay-limestone, with medium-high stoniness.
The Grenache is harvested by hand on September 18, with selection in the field and on the sorting table upon arrival at the winery. It is placed in a French oak vat, where it undergoes a pre-fermentation maceration until fermentation begins spontaneously. After eight days the alcoholic fermentation comes to an end. But the Grenache remains in the vat for another 15 days. After this time it is transferred to a 2000-liter Stockinger vat and 12 500-liter barrels where it remains for 10 months. Subsequent aging and refining in concrete tanks for 4 months.
