Cune White Reserva
In the past, CVNE produced uncompromising whites, designed for long aging. Fashion left us behind and sadly, this great tradition was lost.
Now it is back with Cune Blanco Reserva (among others). And this time, we don't care about fashions.
To enjoy without reservation.

Characteristics of the vineyard
Selection of our 9 hectares of white grapes in Torremontalbo planted in 1973. The vineyard is protected from frost by the small hill that gives it its name, Barbarroja, which we selected for its quality for the production of this wine. The vines are bush vines located at just over 400m above sea level, with clay soils that help maintain humidity and boulders on the surface, facing south and with a slight slope.
Winemaking characteristics
The grapes were harvested by hand in mid-October, somewhat later than usual given the characteristics of the vintage. The grapes were harvested by hand in 20 kg boxes and quickly transported to the winery. We press gently in the presence of the stems and the must settles spontaneously in 24-48 hours before fermentation begins, one part in concrete and approximately half in a combination of a foudre and new French oak barrels and one wine barrel. After fermentation, the lees are worked by daily batonnages at the beginning, which are spaced over time depending on the tastings. The objective is to give volume to the wine without losing its nerve and liveliness. The wine is filtered before bottling. Aged for 18 months in casks and 6 months in the bottle.
Harvest data
The white grape harvest for the production of this wine takes place on September 11 and 12, 2020, with a selective collection. It has been an atypical year for white grapes with a slower ripening than usual, which has resulted in very aromatic wines. The campaign has been marked by rainfall, sometimes with hail, and by the mild temperatures that have accompanied us throughout the vine cycle. This has contributed to an advance of about 15 days in the harvest date with respect to the previous year. The grapes entered the winery in very good health.
Tasting notes
Golden yellow color. Very expressive on the nose, where the balance between aging and youth is perfectly appreciated in the floral aromas, ripe fruit with tropical and citrus notes, hints of nuts, vanilla, coconut, brioche... On the palate it has a smooth entry with a silky, enveloping passage with a fresh finish that leads to a long and complex aftertaste. Good companion for cheeses, white meats and fish both in sauce and grilled. Serving temperature 8-10ºC.
