Finca Vallejo Rueda
Finca Vallejo Rueda is a fresh and expressive white made from Verdejo grapes from single vineyards in the DO Rueda. Very aromatic, it is highlighted by notes of mango, peach and grapefruit, with subtle herbal and spicy hints. Smooth and elegant on the palate, with a perfect balance between acidity and a pleasant bitter finish. Ideal as an aperitif or to accompany fish, seafood and white meats.
Characteristics of the vineyard
Verdejo variety selected in the field from our best vineyards located in the municipalities of Rueda, La Seca and Alaejos.
With a night harvest we ensure that the grapes arrive at the winery in the best quality conditions.
Winemaking characteristics
In order to preserve the primary aromas of the Verdejo grape, the grapes are pressed in a gentle and controlled manner. The must obtained is transferred to stainless steel tanks where it ferments at a controlled temperature.
Harvest data
The 2024 harvest began on August 29 and lasted until October 4. It was a smaller harvest than in previous years.
The harvest was carried out at night and was staggered to preserve the grapes in perfect organoleptic conditions and avoid oxidation.
The weather conditions, with a wide temperature differential between day and night and moderate temperatures during the day, were the precursor to slower ripening and allowed the grapes to be harvested with the ideal parameters, although they also increased the pace of the harvest in the last two weeks.
The quantity harvested has been lower due to weather conditions and good practices in the vineyard.
The wines are expected to be fresh on the nose with good volume on the palate.
Tasting notes
Greenish yellow color.
Very aromatic and with marked notes of fruits such as mango, peach and grapefruit, nuanced by hints of spices and herbal aromas.
In the mouth it is smooth and elegant, with a perfect balance between acidity and bitterness and a long finish marked by balsamic notes.
Because of its freshness and fruity character, it goes very well with white meats, fish, seafood and some types of pâté. It is also ideal as an aperitif wine.
Recommended serving temperature 8 to 10ºC.
