Axarquia is another area where viticulture is complicated by its sloping vineyards, and the name of the winery gives us a clue, Viñedos Verticales (Vertical Vineyards). Poor slate soils where the old Moscatel and the almost disappeared Doradilla vines grow suffering but giving their best. After the harvest the varieties are fermented separately, then blended and aged in concrete tanks for 5 months on its own lees. The Moscatel maintains its fruity character and the Doradilla adds seriousness and volume in the mouth. 14,820 bottles produced. Contains sulphites.
