The summer was dry and mild, with sufficient hours of sunshine, with the cool nights that characterise Marlborough allowing fruit to be grown in the best possible conditions. Marlborough enjoying these very stable weather conditions provided fruit that was able to reach its best physiological and flavour point. In addition, low yields meant that the grapes had great flavour and concentration. The Riesling vineyards are sourced from various areas of Marlborough, from the clays of the Waihopai Valley, the river terraces of the Wairau Valley, as well as river terraces in the cooler Awatere Valley, this gives bright lemon and lime citrus with lively acidity. This wine can be enjoyed young, or with several years of bottle ageing to develop honeyed and complex notes. Contains sulphites.
